4rd Annual
Riverland Artist Home Gallery Tour
Questions & Answers
What is this tour about?
As many artist know, it can be difficult to transport large or delicate art pieces to various exhibit locations, so this tour was established to overcome that hurdle. The Riverland Artist Home Gallery Tour lets you showcase your work to your Riverland neighbors ..... right from your own home!
Will I be able to sell my art?
Yes, you can! Previous tour sales totaled over $25,000! You can sell finished art, take commissions for future work, or sell semi/private art lessons.
I don't have a "Home Gallery".
Yes, you do! Where your art is in your home IS your gallery.
How does it work?
Riverland residents who register to attend the event will receive a PDF map showing the location of the artists' homes. The PDF will also display a photo of each participating artist and their work, along with a brief description, to help our Riverland neighbors choose which homes to visit.
Do I have to display inside my home? Can I set-up in the garage?
Riverland covenants prohibit garage and tag sales, so guests must enter through your front doors. You can display your work in the garage, but guests will still have to use the front entry as garage doors must remain closed throughout the event.
I would like to participate but I'm uncomfortable, or unable, to exhibit in my home. Are there any other options?
Maybe. Participants are encouraged to team-up with others to showcase their work from just one home to minimize the number of stops attendees need to make. Plus, it's a great way to increase each artist's exposure to attendees who otherwise may not have visited their exhibit. If you would like to participate but cannot exhibit in your own home, please state so in the comment section of the Sign-Up page and we will do our best to assist you.
Can I exhibit on just one day?
Yes! Artists can now exhibit on just one day or both days of the event!
However, for the days selected, artists must still commit to exhibiting for the full day.
(11AM to 4PM).
What is the deadline to sign-up as a participating artist?
The final deadline to register is January 17th in order to be included on the tour map. However, we start promoting each individual artist in the many weeks leading up to the event, so the sooner you register (and return the Artist's Profile Sheet), the more exposure you'll receive.
Is there a fee to participate?
Participating artists will be asked to contribute $10 towards the costs of marketing & printing materials used to promote the event throughout Riverland.
What else do I need to know?
Registered artists will be sent an Artist's Profile Sheet to assist us in marketing the event and each artist. It's important that you submit your completed form and photo as soon as possible.
Returning Artists: If no changes are needed and you want to use last year's profile and photo,
be sure to select that option on the Sign-Up Form.
Participants will be asked to attend at least one meeting, perhaps two, to review procedures, provide suggestions, and to answer any remaining questions. Tips & recommendations regarding in-home set-up, managing guests, and self-promotion during the event will also be provided.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, December 11th at 11:00AM in Riverland (the exact location will be sent to registered participants). It's important that all participating artists attend. If you absolutely cannot attend due to a scheduling conflict, you can still sign-up to participate.
Simply let us know and we'll ensure you receive the information you need.
